Woman seriously injured in collision involving school bus full of kids in Phoenix

An adult was seriously injured and several children were hurt in a collision involving a full school bus in Phoenix on Tuesday morning.

PHOENIX – An adult was seriously injured and several children were hurt in a collision involving a full school bus in Phoenix on Tuesday morning, authorities said.

Officers responded to the scene near 16th Street and Glendale Avenue around 9:30 a.m., according to the Phoenix Fire Department.

The school bus, which says Sts. Simon and Jude School on the side, was carrying 68 students when it collided with a car, Capt. DJ Lee said in a media advisory.

One woman was taken to a hospital in critical condition afterward.

Firefighters evaluated all of the children in a parking lot next to the crash site. Six of the them had complaints, Lee said.

Some children where picked up by their parents, and a second school bus came to get the others.

No other details were immediately available.
