Cast your vote: ADOT announces finalists in Safety Message Contest

PHOENIX — The public now has a chance to choose which safety messages will appear on overhead freeway signs across the state.

The Arizona Department of Transportation just announced the finalists for its 2025 Safety Message Contest.

Online submissions closed on Sept. 22, and now Arizonans can vote for their favorite slogan through Oct. 27.

ADOT looked for messages that were creative and engaging, but also clear and concise.

What are the ADOT Safety Message Contest 2025 finalists?

Here are the top 10 finalists ADOT picked from thousands of submissions:

• In your safe driving era.
• Get off your phone, the life you save may be your own.
• That seatbelt looks good on you.
• It’s not a race, leave some space.
• Don’t crash my vibe, drive safe.
• Drinking & driving is a pour decision.
• Make your intentions clear, use turn signals.
• Fast & furious? Try safe and courteous.
• It’s giving safe vibes when you signal.
• Camp in the woods, not the left lane.

This is ADOT’s ninth year of inviting the public to put their creativity and safety awareness to work.

The contest is part of ADOT’s ongoing campaign to promote safe driving habits and reduce roadway fatalities.

Last year’s winning messages were Doris Brock’s “Drive with care, life has no spare” and David Dixon’s “Watch your speed, not your social feed.”
