SAFE Alert issued for missing 65-year-old man last seen in Mesa

The Mesa Police Department is looking for a Native American senior who was last seen on Monday night.

Manual Shaw is the subject of a SAFE Alert issued Tuesday morning. The 65-year-old was last seen at 9:30 p.m. while walking in the area of Main Street and Extension Road.

His family is concerned about him because of his medical condition as well as memory issues, police said.

Shaw is 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighs 225 pounds and has gray hair and black eyes, police said.

He was last seen wearing a red T-shirt, blue shorts and white shoes with long black socks.

SAFE Alerts have replaced Silver Alerts in Arizona as a way to spread the word about missing persons who are 65 and older and missing persons who have dementia or developmental/cognitive disabilities.
