PHOENIX — Authorities deactivated a SAFE Alert on Monday morning after a missing 71-year-old woman from Phoenix was located and reunited with her family.
Catherine Opuroku was found in a neighboring jurisdiction, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
When the SAFE Alert was issued on Sunday afternoon, Opuroku had last been seen around 10 a.m. that day near 29th Avenue and Union Hills Drive.
Opuroku is described as 5 feet tall and 140 pounds with gray hair and black eyes.
She suffers from a medical condition which may cause her to become disoriented or confused.
SAFE Alerts have replaced Silver Alerts in Arizona as way to spread the word about missing persons who are 65 and older and missing persons who have dementia or developmental/cognitive disabilities.
