Earnhardt family surprises Society of St. Vincent de Paul with $75,000 donation

Earnhardt Auto Centers donated $75,000 to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul as part of its year of surprise gifts to celebrate the company’s 75th anniversary.

The Earnhardt family presented the check to St. Vincent de Paul leaders at the nonprofit’s main campus, near Seventh Avenue and Watkins Street, in Phoenix on Wednesday morning.

“We’re incredibly grateful to receive this surprise donation from the Earnhardt family,” St. Vincent de Paul CEO Shannon Clancy said in a news release. “This generous $75,000 gift will help us continue to feed, clothe, house and heal people and families facing difficult circumstances. St. Vincent de Paul couldn’t serve so many people without loving partners like the Earnhardt family and Earnhardt Auto Centers.”

Bull and Dodge Earnhardt explained that the nonprofit was chosen for the donation due to its wide-reaching, vital work that impacts so many people’s well-being. They also knew their grandfather, Tex, would want them contribute to St. Vincent de Paul financially.

“Dad always showed us that you can’t have a strong community if you don’t do your part,” brothers Hal Earnhardt III and Jim Babe Earnhardt said. “It’s important that we mark our 75th anniversary by giving back to organizations that have such a meaningful impact on Arizona communities. We’re proud to continue that tradition. It’s also so fitting because we know our Dad supported this charity from the very beginning.”

Other organizations that have been given surprise gifts by Earnhardt Auto Centers for its 75th Anniversary include the Boys & Girls Club, Child Crisis Arizona, Ava’s Treehouse at the Arizona Cancer Foundation for Children, Make-A-Wish Arizona, St. Mary’s Food Bank, the 100 Club of Arizona and the Arizona Humane Society.
