A SAFE Alert for a missing 70-year-old Gilbert man was canceled Sunday after he was located and reunited with his family.

A SAFE Alert for a missing 70-year-old Gilbert man was canceled Sunday night after he was located and reunited with his family, authorities said.

The SAFE Alert for Lloyd Brown had been issued Thursday. At the time, he was last seen May 4 leaving his residence near Higley and Queen Creek roads on foot around 10:30 a.m.

Brown is described as 5 feet, 11 inches tall and 170 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes.

Authorities said he has a medical condition that can cause him to become lost or easily confused.

SAFE Alerts have replaced Silver Alerts in Arizona as way to spread the word about missing persons who are 65 and older and missing persons who have dementia or developmental/cognitive disabilities.
