Rocker Lenny Kravitz to land in Phoenix this summer

PHOENIX – Get ready to fly away without leaving Phoenix when Lenny Kravitz comes to town this summer.

The multiple Grammy Award-winning rocker this week announced a new North American leg for his ongoing Raise Vibration tour, including a Sept. 18 show at Comerica Theatre.

Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday at 10 a.m.

Kravitz is currently touring in Europe in support of his 11th studio album, 2018’s “Raise Vibration.”

He’ll return to the states for the new leg beginning Aug. 21 in Virginia.

According to Setlist.fm, Kravitz hasn’t played in Arizona since a 2015 show at Comerica.

It’s been 30 years since Kravitz burst onto the rock scene with his 1989 debut, “Let Love Rule.”

He won his first Grammy for best male rock performance in 1999 for “Fly Away,” perhaps his signature tune with its chugging, instantly recognizable guitar riff.

That was his first of a record four wins in the category. He also took the award home for “American Woman” in 2000, “Again” in 2001 and “Dig In” in 2002.

Kravitz has also dabbled in acting, most notably as Cinna in two “Hunger Games” movies.
