Rescue teams find missing hiker dead at South Mountain in Phoenix

PHOENIX — A reported missing hiker was found dead near the “T-Bone” Trail Head at South Mountain in Phoenix on Saturday afternoon, authorities said.

Technical Rescue Teams were seeking for a male in his mid-20’s who was last heard from around 10 a.m. after telling his family about the trail he was planning to hike.

City of Phoenix Park Rangers and a Phoenix police helicopter worked with the rescue teams to find the hiker.

The man was found dead, but the cause of death is unknown.

No other information was made immediately available.

The investigation is ongoing.
