Rain and high winds wreak havoc for Valley roadways on Black Friday

PHOENIX — Overnight showers and heavy winds prompted Valley-wide power outages and even a tornado warning early on Black Friday.

The majority of the Valley was under a flood advisory for most of the morning

Phoenix Sky Harbor neared a record amount of rainfall for Nov. 29 set 97 years ago. The previous record was .72 inches in 1922 and the airport had recorded .64 inches as of 7:00 a.m.

Rain, winds and cold temperatures continued through the morning.

Today’s high temperature is expected to be just 59 degrees with a low of 42. Winds are expected to gust as high as 25 mph.

The high winds caused disruption on many roads due to ripped off branches, limbs and fallen trees.
