Powerball ticket worth $50K sold in Phoenix, jackpot rolls over to $570M

PHOENIX — One lucky Powerball ticket sold in Phoenix snagged $50,000, but the jackpot is still alive and rolled over to $570 million ahead of a drawing on Wednesday night.

Sold at a Fry’s grocery store near State Route 51 and Camelback Road, the winning ticket matched four of the five winning numbers on Monday (21, 22, 39, 44, 60) and got the Powerball of 12.

The ticket sold in Arizona was the highest winner nationwide in Monday’s drawing, as the jackpot swells to the 8th-largest amount in Powerball history.

It is also the highest the Powerball jackpot has been since January when a $731.1 million ticket was sold in Maryland, according to a press release.

The Powerball jackpot has yet to been hit in Arizona so far this year, with a winning ticket being sold twice in Florida and New Jersey in addition to the win in Maryland.

Hitting the Powerball jackpot holds an odds of one in 292,201,338, according to the website, while winning the $50,000 prize holds a one in 913,129 odds.
