2 Mega Millions tickets worth $10K sold in Arizona as jackpot climbs

PHOENIX — Two lucky people in Arizona are $10,000 richer after purchasing winning Mega Millions tickets in Friday’s drawing, but the grand prize is still up for grabs and growing.

One of the winning tickets was sold at a Maverick gas station in Fort Mohave, while the other was sold at a Fry’s on Mill Avenue in Tempe, according to a press release.

The two winning tickets matched four of the five numbers drawn on Friday (17, 32, 40, 59, 61) and got the Mega Ball of 18.

Nobody got the grand prize by matching all the numbers and the Mega Ball, resulting in the Mega Millions jackpot increasing to an estimated $432 million for Tuesday’s drawing.

That amount marks the 12th largest pot in Mega Millions history, according to the release.

The odds of winning a $10,000 ticket is 1 in 931,001, according to the official website, while a grand prize win holds an odds of 1 in 302,575,350.

The last Arizona winner of the Mega Millions jackpot was a Glendale resident that took home $410 million in June of 2020.

Matching five of the numbers but missing out on the Mega Ball still nets a $1 million win, with odds of 1 in 12,607,306.

The two winners in Arizona were among 18 nationally to win $10,000 in the drawing, while one person got a $1 million ticket, according to the website.
