Police asking public for assistance finding west Phoenix shooting suspect

The Phoenix Police Department is investigating a shooting in west Phoenix that left a man with non-life-threatening injuries early Sunday morning.

PHOENIX — The Phoenix Police Department is investigating a shooting in west Phoenix that left a man with non-life-threatening injuries early Sunday morning.

Officers responded around 12:40 a.m. to the area of 81st and Riverside avenues for reports of shots being fired.

Upon arrival, officers found a man with a gunshot wound and he was treated and taken to a nearby hospital. Police said there were no other injuries.

Phoenix police searched the vicinity for suspects but did not find anyone of interest.

Detectives then took over the investigation.
