Brothers arrested in connection with Phoenix shooting that left 1 dead, 1 hospitalized

The Phoenix Police Department recently broke news of brothers arrested in connection with a fatal Phoenix shooting on Jan. 2.

PHOENIX — Two arrests have been made in connection with a Phoenix shooting that left one victim dead and another hospitalized, authorities announced Monday.

Twenty-year-old Daniel Zamora is facing charges of murder and aggravated assault in connection with a Jan. 2 attack, according to the Phoenix Police Department. He is currently being held on a $1 million bond.

His brother, 29-year-old Ricky Zamora, was arrested for hindering prosecution, police said.

Investigators said there’s a possibility that other suspects may be involved in the killing of 25-year-old Manuel Fonseca.

Details about Phoenix shooting that led to arrest of brothers

Officers found Fonseca and another victim suffering from gunshot wounds near 19th Avenue and Bell Road around 1:30 p.m.

Both were brought to a nearby hospital, where Fonseca died. However, the second victim was stabilized.
