Phoenix to flirt with 100-degree temperatures over Easter weekend

PHOENIX — Phoenix will flirt with triple-digit temperatures over the Easter weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

Friday’s high temperature was expected to reach 92 degrees before a weekend in which Phoenix will likely see its warmest temperatures to date this year.

Saturday’s high was forecast for 96 degrees, and the projection for Sunday was 99.

If Phoenix hits the 100-degree mark, it’ll come about a month before the city typically reaches triple digits.

The average for the first 100-degree day in the city is May 2.

Phoenix hit 100 degrees for the first time on April 26 each of the past two years.

The weather has quickly warmed after mostly mild temperatures the first three months of the year.

Phoenix reached 90 degrees for the first time in 2021 at 1 p.m. on Thursday before topping out at 95 degrees.

Before Thursday, Phoenix had enjoyed sub-90s temperatures since Nov. 16.
