Phoenix man sentenced to 12 years for sexual exploitation of a minor

PHOENIX—A Phoenix man was sentenced to 12 years in prison for the sexual exploitation of a minor, authorities announced Friday

Ernesto Gomez-Enciso, 36, pleaded guilty to two felony counts, admitting he possessed a sexually explicit video involving a child under 13 years of age.

Investigators executed a search warrant on June 20, 2018, at his residence.

Gomez-Enciso admitted to downloading sexually explicit content of children from an international file server. Investigators also discovered numerous images on Gomez-Enciso’s phone.

“Protecting vulnerable children from exploitation will always be a top priority for my administration,” Brnovich said in the release. “We appreciate our law enforcement partners and our joint efforts to make sure online predators are held accountable and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

Gomez-Encisco will be required to register as a sex offender when he is released. He will also be on lifetime probation upon his release.
