24-year-old Phoenix man dies after driving head-on into semi-truck

A Phoenix man is dead after driving head-on into a semi-truck on Saturday morning.

PHOENIX — A Phoenix man is dead after driving head-on into a semi-truck on Saturday morning, according to authorities.

The Phoenix Police Department responded to a crash involving a semi-truck and a vehicle at 43rd Avenue and Roosevelt Street around 3:10 a.m.

Officers found the man, 24-year-old Aaron Williams, involved in the collision and took him to a local hospital. He did not survive his injuries.

Detectives believe Williams was driving west on Roosevelt Street and entered the eastbound lanes when he tried to pass another car headed westbound. While in the eastbound lanes, Williams’ vehicle hit the semi-truck head-on. The semi-truck’s driver remained at the scene of the collision.

No signs of impairment were found.

No other information was made available.

The case is an ongoing investigation.
