Pedestrian struck, killed while crossing Cave Creek Road in north Phoenix
A pedestrian was struck and killed while crossing Cave Creek Road in north Phoenix on Wednesday morning.

PHOENIX – A pedestrian was struck and killed while crossing a north Phoenix road on Wednesday morning, authorities said.
The fatal collision occurred around 5:30 a.m. on Cave Creek Road just south of Greenway Road, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
The adult victim, 59-year-old Sylvia Phillips, was suffering from critical injuries when officers got to the scene. Phoenix Fire Department personnel arrived and pronounced the individual as deceased.
The driver of the vehicle that hit Phillips remained in the area and did not show signs of impairment, police said.
Phillips apparently was trying to cross Cave Creek Road at Nisbet Road when she was struck, police said.
No other details about the incident were made available.
