PHOENIX – Two police officers and a suspected drunk driver were injured in a crash early Wednesday in Phoenix, authorities said.

The collision between a pickup truck and a marked patrol vehicle occurred near 19th and Dunlap avenues around 4:20 a.m., according to the Phoenix Police Department.

The police vehicle’s driver and passenger were hospitalized with unspecified injuries.

Meanwhile, the driver of the truck was taken to a hospital for medical treatment and DUI processing, police said.

The intersection of 19th and Dunlap avenues was closed for several hours while the scene was under investigation.
