There are no scheduled highway closures throughout Labor Day weekend, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
The agency advises motorists to plan head and expect heavy traffic to and from popular holiday destinations such as California and northern Arizona.

The agency said it will deploy personnel and equipment in areas along heavily traveled highways, including Interstate 17 and State Route 87 north of the Phoenix area, during peak times in order to assist clearing travel lanes if crashes or other incidents occur.
Last year, eight fatal crashes killed nine people during Labor Day weekend, according to ADOT.
DUI task forces from 86 law enforcement agencies statewide will be set up through the weekend.
“We want everyone to enjoy the holiday festivities and to do so responsibly by having a designated driver, calling a friend, a ride service or taking a taxi home,” Alberto Gutier, director of the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety, said in a press release.
ADOT provides real-time highway conditions online, on Twitter or over the phone at 511.
Drivers can also get alerts and alternate route notifications via ADOT’s mobile app.
