PHOENIX — A motorcyclist is dead after a hit-and-run collision with a car in north Phoenix on Wednesday evening, authorities said.

Michael John Webb, 58, was located near 33rd Avenue and Cactus Road around 6 p.m. and was pronounced dead after he was taken to a nearby hospital, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

The car involved in the accident was not at the scene when police arrived.

Detectives believe that the driver involved didn’t yield to traffic on Cactus Road while traveling west. The vehicle then hit Webb on his motorcycle on the north side of Cactus Road.
