Man suspected of DUI after 2 motorcycle riders hospitalized from west Phoenix collision

The driver in a collision that left a man and woman riding a motorcycle seriously injured Friday night was suspected of driving under the influence.

PHOENIX — The driver in a collision that left a man and woman riding a motorcycle seriously injured was suspected of driving under the influence, authorities said Saturday.

Officers with the Phoenix Police Department responded to the crash near 64th Avenue and Thomas Road shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Friday.

They located the motorcycle riders with serious but not life-threatening injuries, and the riders were taken to a hospital by the Phoenix Fire Department.

The man allegedly driving the vehicle that hit them remained at the scene of the collision, and he was detained on suspicion of DUI.

Any charges will be determined after the investigation.
