Metro Phoenix weekend events: Planes, food trucks, beer and more

PHOENIX – If you’re looking for something to do in metro Phoenix during a weekend with gloriously perfect weather, you have plenty of options.

Whether you’re into airplanes, chocolate, cars or beer, there’s an event for you.

And with temperatures in the 70s and clear skies in the forecast, you couldn’t ask for better conditions.

Here are some options for getting out and having fun over the next few days:

Buckeye Air Fair: Look to the skies from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily Friday-Sunday at the Buckeye Municipal Airport. The free event, with paid VIP options, features air shows, hundreds of planes and a kid’s zone.

Parada del Sol: The 67th annual Parada del Sol Parade & Trail’s End Festival takes over Old Town Scottsdale on Saturday, with a parade from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the festival running until 4 p.m. Related events are planned for Friday and Saturday.

Concours in the Hills Car Show: The seventh annual free car show will rev up at Fountain Park in Fountain Hills on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Arizona Strong Beer Festival: Around 500 beers from 130 breweries will be on the menu at Phoenix Steele Indian School Park from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Street Eats Food Truck Festival: Dozens of trucks will offer tasty grub Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Salt River Fields in Scottsdale. After forking over for admission, attendees will be able to purchase $2 samples and enjoy live music, lawn games and more.

Winter Antique Tractor & Engine Show: Looking for more traditional vehicles? The 30th annual show will plant itself at Glendale’s Sahuaro Ranch on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Chocolate Experience: Satisfy your sweet tooth at Glendale’s Chocolate Experience, a new spin on the Chocolate Affaire event, which been held outdoors annually. The event is moving indoors to the Glendale Civic Center, running from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Phoenix Chinese Week: Margaret T. Hance Park East will have food and tea vendors, arts and crafts and demonstrations of Chinese heritage on Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
