Shooting near Bass Pro Shops in Mesa sends 1 to hospital

One person was taken to a hospital with an apparent gunshot wound after a shooting near Bass Pro Shop in Mesa Thursday, police said.

The person’s condition was not immediately known.

The shooting happened near Dobson Road and Bass Pro Drive.

Mesa police asked the public to avoid the area while officers remained at the scene.

The shooting appeared to be an isolated incident, and officers were not looking for any outstanding suspects, police said.
