Man hospitalized after being shot by Maricopa County deputies in White Tank Mountains park

PHOENIX — A man was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries after being shot by Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office deputies on Wednesday morning.

The shooting took place in the White Tank Mountain Regional Park near Waddell, according to MCSO.

Deputies responded to reports of a suicidal man, who allegedly pointed his firearm at them.

That prompted deputies to shoot at him, according to MCSO.

He was brought to a hospital where he is receiving treatment.

No deputies were injured in the MCSO shooting.
