Maricopa County Fair returns with Easter events, monster trucks

PHOENIX — The Maricopa County Fair runs April 3-5 and April 9-12 at the Arizona State Fairgrounds, featuring Easter egg hunts, monster truck shows, sea lion performances and carnival rides.

Opening weekend includes an Easter egg hunt for all ages, which promises a chance to win bikes and toys. There is also an adult hunt that features cash prizes up to $3,000.

Monster truck shows take over the fair April 10-12, headlined by Megasaurus, a car-crushing, fire-breathing mechanical dinosaur.

Other marquee events include a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles meet-and-greet on April 4 and a K-pop dance party on April 11.

There are also sea lion shows, magicians and jugglers as well as livestock and agricultural exhibits scheduled to take place at the fair.

Admission to the Maricopa County Fair for adults is $10, with children 7 and under are getting in free.

Unlimited ride wristbands are $42 onsite or $35 when bought during the pre-sale, which runs through April 2. On April 9, rides are $2 each and five donated canned goods earn free admission. In addition, seniors 55 and older get free entry on April 10.

Gates open at 11 a.m. daily, but at 10 a.m. on April 10. Parking is $13. Tickets and more details can be found at maricopacountyfair.org.
