Investigation underway after man’s body pulled from canal in west Phoenix

The body of a man was pulled from a canal in west Phoenix on Monday afternoon, authorities said.

The Phoenix Police Department received a report from a Glendale Police officer regarding an unresponsive person in the Grand Canal near 75th Avenue and Camelback Road around 1:45 p.m.

Phoenix Fire crews responded and pronounced the man dead.

Police are working to identify the man and determine how he ended up in the water.
