Arizona man sentenced to 6 years for role in $10 million organized retail theft ring

PHOENIX – A man was sentenced to six years in prison earlier this month for his role in a $10 million Phoenix-area organized retail theft ring, authorities announced Wednesday.

Adam Polansky was also ordered to pay more than $18,000 in restitution during a Jan. 5 hearing.

Polansky previously pleaded guilty to one count each of organized retail theft, trafficking in stolen property in the second degree and illegally conducting an enterprise, according to the Arizona Attorney General’s Office.

Prosecutors said Polansky received $4,357.12 in payments from a fencing location and was tied to $18,000 in known thefts across Maricopa County from 2018 through 2024.

Cases involving his codefendants are ongoing.

“With organized retail crime still on the rise, I want criminals to be on notice: If you are victimizing an Arizona retailer, my office will find you and hold you accountable,” Attorney General Kris Mayes said in a press release. “Organized retail crime impacts Arizona retailers, consumers, and community members who simply want their local neighborhood shops to feel safe again.”
