Police identify 3 suspects in north Phoenix shooting that killed driver

Police have identified three suspects in the fatal shooting of a man who was killed while driving in north Phoenix early Wednesday, authorities said. None have been charged.

Officers were called to the area of 32nd Street and Beardsley Road around 12:20 a.m. Wednesday for reports of a crash and possible shooting.

When police arrived at the scene, they found a car that had hit a small retaining. Christian Brickhouse, 21, was unconscious in the driver’s seat. The Phoenix Fire Department brought him to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Preliminary information indicated that Brickhouse had at least one gunshot wound, police said.

Homicide detectives identified three suspects believed to be involved in the shooting. All three were detained and interviewed, but were released pending further investigation, according to police.

Once the investigation is concluded, authorities said appropriate charges against the three suspects will be submitted to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.
