Man dies in hospital after being hit by train in Avondale
A man is dead after he was hit by a train in Avondale on Friday afternoon, authorities said.

PHOENIX — A man is dead after he was hit by a train in Avondale on Friday afternoon, authorities said.
According to the Avondale Police Department, officers responded to reports of a person being struck by train near Dysart Road and Main Street around 3:30 p.m.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the man was just east of the intersection when he crossed the train tracks in front of a Union Pacific Railroad train and was hit. Police noted that it was a single-train engine and had no train cars.
Officers provided the man with first aid before he was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Avondale police did not identify the man.
Impairment is not believed to be a factor in the fatal incident.
No other information was available.

With no impairment, how does someone just walk in front of train unless they were looking at suicide by locomotive?
My thoughts exactly. Suicide or under the influence until proven otherwise.
Locomotives are big, heavy and LOUD things that only go where the tracks are.
It's really, REALLY easy to NOT get hit by a train ..
