Train crash leaves man dead in downtown Phoenix

A man is dead on Saturday after being hit by a train in downtown Phoenix, according to authorities.

PHOENIX — A man is dead on Saturday after being hit by a train in downtown Phoenix, according to authorities.

It happened around 2 a.m. near the intersection of 11th Avenue and Buchanan Street.

When officers arrived at the collision, they discovered 33-year-old Dominique Mayes with serious injuries, and he was pronounced dead on site.

His injuries indicated that he had been hit by a BNSF train that was being moved just a short distance.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

It's really easy to NOT get hit by a train.
They're really BIG, really LOUD, and only can go where the tracks are..
