1 man dead after fatal multi-car crash involving semi-truck in Phoenix

PHOENIX — One man is dead after a four-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck in Phoenix on Saturday morning.

The crash happened near 51st Avenue and Osborn Road.

As officers and firefighters arrived at the scene, they found the victim trapped in his car. He died at the scene from his injuries.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the victim struck the back of a car, causing him to lose control and drive southbound into lanes of traffic.

The victim’s car then struck a large semi-truck, eventually being pushed into a third vehicle.

51st Avenue and Osborn Road were closed in all directions and have reopened after six hours.

No other information on the victim has been released and no further injuries were reported among the other drivers.
