Body pulled from Bonsall Park South community lake in Glendale

The body of a man was pulled from a community lake in Glendale on Thursday afternoon, authorities said.

PHOENIX — The body of a man was pulled from a community lake in Glendale on Thursday afternoon, authorities said.

A 911 call was received around 1:30 p.m. regarding a person floating face down in Bonsall Park South community lake, near the area of 5900 W. Bethany Home Road, according to the Glendale Police Department.

Emergency crews arrived on scene and recovered the body from the water.

The subject, who police described as a African American male, was determined to be dead.

The reason the man was in the water and the cause of death is currently unknown.

Police said there were no signs of foul play.

The investigation is ongoing.
