Man arrested after allegedly stabbing roommate to death in north Phoenix

PHOENIX – A man was arrested after allegedly stabbing his roommate to death in north Phoenix on Friday, according to authorities.

Police responded to “unknown trouble” in north Phoenix near 35th Street and Campo Bello Drive around 11:45 a.m. on Friday.

After arriving, authorities found 73-year-old Jack Olsen lying on the floor, suffering from multiple stab wounds. Emergency services arrived and determined Olsen died from the stabbing.

A witness then told police that 38-year-old Daniel Kohls stabbed Olsen and left the area on foot.

Police later found and arrested Kohls at a nearby park.

Kohls was then taken into custody and later interviewed by detectives. He was then booked on murder charges.

Police said they believe there are no other suspects.

No other information was made available.

The case is an ongoing investigation.
