Lowe’s opens at Maricopa shopping center with Aldi on the way

PHOENIX — A Lowe’s store opened at a new Maricopa shopping center last month, and an Aldi grocer is set to join it once constructed.

The 130,000-square-foot Lowe’s is considered Phase 1 of South Bridge Marketplace.

Construction on the 54,000-square-foot Aldi building, the anchor of the shopping center’s second phase, will start later this year, according to developer Thompson Thrift.

No timeline was provided for the Aldi store’s completion.

Einstein Bros. Bagels, Club Pilates, Eurowax and She Nails also have signed leases at South Bridge Marketplace, which is located at John Wayne Parkway and Honeycutt Avenue.

“We’re seeing robust tenant demand from both national and regional operators, and we expect the remaining space to be fully committed in the near term,” Ashlee Boyd, managing partner for Thompson Thrift Commercial, said in a press release. “Our team is proud to help meet the needs of this dynamic community through thoughtful, long-term development.”

Thompson Thrift also recently began construction on South Tempe Square, a neighborhood shopping center at the northwest corner of Rural and Warner roads.
