6 hospitalized from wrong-way crash on Scottsdale freeway involving 3 cars

A wrong-way collision on the Loop 101 Pima Freeway in Scottsdale late Saturday night left six people hospitalized, authorities said.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a black Audi sedan was observed traveling south on the northbound side of the freeway leading up to the collision, which occurred near the Chaparral Road exit around 11 p.m.
Six people were taken to the hospital, one of whom suffered from serious injuries, between the Audi and two other vehicles involved.
The freeway’s north side was closed at Chaparral Road as a result and reopened several hours later around 7 a.m., according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
