Lookout Tavern owners abandon plans to open 2-story restaurant and nightclub in Peoria

PHOENIX — Lookout Tavern’s owners have abandoned their plans to open a two-story restaurant and nightclub in Peoria.

The dual-purpose project was originally announced in November 2024; however, the owners said in a statement the project has “stalled,” and they had no choice but to abandon it.

“We invested a substantial amount of time, energy and capital into getting this project off the ground,” the owners wrote. “Early on, we had real momentum and a lot of optimism. But in the end, the broader economic environment, paired with investor interest not coming together at the level required, made it impossible to proceed responsibly.”

The 13,000-square foot entertainment spot was slated open in early 2025 in the P83 district of Peoria under the same ownership group as north Phoenix’s Lookout Tavern.

The second Lookout Tavern location would have been located off of north Loop 101 and 83rd Avenue, adjacent to the Peoria Sports Complex.

The first floor of the scrapped location would have housed a sports bar and Vegas-style sports book with a 125-foot wraparound television screen and both traditional and private dining areas.

The second floor was set to feature an audio lounge, rooftop deck and private VIP-level spaces.

The ownership group is holding out hope that they can eventually open up another location in the area.

“Maybe someday, with better timing and the right resources, we’ll have the chance to revisit this vision and do it the way it deserves to be done,” the owners wrote.

The group plans to continue operating the north Phoenix location without any changes or disruptions.
