8-year-old student caught with loaded handgun at Arizona elementary school

An 8-year-old student was caught with a loaded handgun at an Arizona elementary school on Monday, authorities said.

PHOENIX – An 8-year-old student was caught with a loaded handgun at an Arizona elementary school on Monday, authorities said.

Deputies responded to a call about a gun at Copper Basin Elementary School in San Tan Valley around 1 p.m., according to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO). The K-8 school is part of the Florence Unified School District.

A school employee intervened after witnessing the student showing off a 9mm handgun to friends. The child never made any threats, authorities said.

PCSO is working with the Pinal County Attorney’s Office and the Arizona Department of Child Safety on the investigation.

As soon as lefties are able to confiscate ALL firearms from criminals, I'm all for background checks. Until then......NOPE.
I still shake my head when the lefties mention "assault weapons". Couldn't any firearm be considered an "assault weapon"? There are shotguns and hunting rifles that have magazines.
