PHOENIX — Democratic incumbent Kyrsten Sinema kept her seat for Arizona’s 9th Congressional District in Tuesday’s general election.

Sinema squared off against Republican Wendy Rogers, who was blasted after using footage of American journalist James Foley seconds before he was beheaded in a campaign ad.

Rogers criticized Sinema and her record on national security in the ad. The commercial also poses the question of whether the United States is secure, blaming Sinema and her liberal agenda getting in the way of the nation’s safety.

Sinema opted to run a clean campaign, and instead focused on senior citizens and women’s rights.
