PHOENIX – Hip-hop superstar Kendrick Lamar and acclaimed R&B singer SZA are teaming up for a spring 2025 stadium tour that stops in the Phoenix area.
The dynamic duo’s “Grand National Tour” will hit State Farm Stadium in Glendale, home of the Arizona Cardinals, on May 27.
Presales start Wednesday, and tickets go on sale to the general public through SeatGeek at 10 a.m. Friday.
The 21-date North American tour kicks off April 19 in Minneapolis and wraps up June 18 in Washington, D.C.
Why stadium tour with rapper Kendrick Lamar and singer SZA is a big deal
Lamar is arguably the most heralded and influential rapper in the game today. He was chosen to headline the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show on Feb. 9 in New Orleans.
He surprised the music world last month with the release of “GNX,” which includes two songs featuring SZA. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 album chart, making it his fifth release to reach that pinnacle.
Lamar and SZA have earned a combined 83 Grammy Award nominations, with Kendrick taking home 17 trophies and SZA winning four.
SZA’s most recent album was the highly lauded 2022 release “SOS,” which spent 10 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. She performed at Footprint Center in Phoenix on the “SOS Tour” in October 2023.
Lamar’s last Arizona appearance was also at Footprint Center. He took the mic there in September 2022 on “The Big Steppers Tour.”
The “Grand National Tour” is the second 2025 concert announced for State Farm Stadium. Genre-spanning singer/rapper Post Malone will stop at the Glendale venue on June 21 as part of his “BIG ASS Stadium Tour.”
