Kamala Harris urges Arizona voters to move past Donald Trump at rally

PHOENIX — Kamala Harris made a plea to Arizona voters to move past her presidential opponent, Donald Trump, during a rally in Phoenix on Thursday afternoon.

“We have an opportunity to turn the page on a decade of Donald Trump trying to keep us divided and afraid of each other,” Harris, the Democratic nominee, said at Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre. “We’re done with that, we’re exhausted with that.

“We know that’s who he is, but Phoenix that is not who we are.”

Trump, like Harris, was in the Valley on Thursday in a final attempt to woo voters in the swing state, five days before Election Day.

Harris said her opponent, who is running for president for the third consecutive election cycle, isn’t in touch with the current political climate.

She urged voters to support Proposition 139, a statewide ballot initiative that would codify the right to an abortion into the Arizona Constitution.

“It’s time for a new generation of leadership in America,” Harris said. “I am ready to offer that leadership as the next president of the United States.”

Harris also cautioned against what she believes would be Trump’s priorities if he were to win the election.

She said Trump’s first day in the Oval Office would include a list of enemies. Harris said her first day in the Oval Office would have a to-do list, which would start with bringing down the cost of living.

“He is unstable, obsessed with revenge, consumed with grievance and out for unchecked power,” Harris said.

On the final occasion, Harris addressed the ongoing situation and promised to end the war that has gone on for over a year and claimed the lives of thousands.

“We all want this war to end and get the hostages out and I will work on it full time when I am elected president as I have been,” Harris said.
