Event combines animatronic dinosaurs with LEGO activities at 1 Phoenix location

PHOENIX — Children who love both dinosaurs and LEGOs can enjoy a unique event in Phoenix this weekend.

An entertainment company is bringing together two popular attractions — Jurassic Quest, an interactive dinosaur experience, and Brick Fest Live, a top family LEGO‑themed event — for a single combined show running Feb. 6-8.

The joint event will offer both experiences in one location, for one ticket price and has no time limits. It will take place at the state fairgrounds, which is located off 19th Avenue and McDowell Road.

What is there to do at Jurassic Quest with Brick Fest Live?

Jurassic Quest takes families on a journey through 165 million years of prehistoric history, featuring true‑to‑life, scientifically accurate dinosaurs, some of which are animatronic. Guests can embark on a self-guided scavenger hunt called “The Quest” while learning more about dinosaurs and ancient ecosystems through a video tour.

There are also lots of hand-on activities, some of which include real fossils. Children can ride dinosaur statues, play on inflatable attractions, take part in face-painting and more. There’s even a “Triceratots” soft play area for toddlers.

Brick Fest Live brings over a million LEGO bricks to hands‑on stations designed to spark creativity and imaginative play. Kids can marvel at life‑size models and then jump into building zones where they can create anything from glow‑in‑the‑dark structures to custom designs on giant mosaic walls.

Young builders can also:

• Test their creations on 35‑foot race tracks
• Help construct a massive floor mosaic for the Guinness World Record Challenge
• Explore additional interactive stations throughout the venue

Inclusive version of two-for-one event offered

The event is also designed to be inclusive for children with special needs.

A sensory- and mobility-friendly session, called Lights Up, Sounds Down, will run from 8 to 9 a.m. This early-entry hour features lighter crowds, reduced noise, softer lighting and additional staff support. Guests attending this session are welcome to stay beyond 9 a.m. and enjoy the full event at their own pace.

Family Quest Entertainment, which operates both shows, said the pairing makes perfect sense. CEO David Taube noted that dinosaurs and LEGOs are often how kids first get interested in subjects like biology, geology and engineering, making the combination a natural fit.

“At Family Quest Entertainment, we’re all about turning science into an adventure,” Taube said in an announcement. “By bringing together Jurassic Quest and Brick Fest Live for the first time ever, we’re giving families a chance to dive into the world of dinosaurs, hands-on building and creativity – all in one action-packed day.”
