Innings Festival returning to Phoenix area for second year

PHOENIX — The Innings Festival, a celebration of music and spring training baseball, announced Tuesday it would be returning for a second year.

The 2019 version will be held March 2-3 at Tempe Beach Park, according to the festival’s website.

No information was made available about the lineup or ticket sales.

It’s the same location as the 2018 Innings Festival, which ran for three days and featured Queens of the Stone Age, the Avett Brothers and Chris Stapleton as headliners.

It also included batting and pitching cages and appearances from pro baseball players.

The Innings Festival hopes to avoid the fate of the Lost Lake Festival, which debuted in 2017 and reportedly drew around 45,000 music fans to Steele Indian School Park in Phoenix over three days. A second version was scheduled for October 2018, but it was canceled in June after tickets already had gone on sale.
