Four female inmates were hospitalized Sunday morning after a medical emergency at a prison in Goodyear, authorities said.

PHOENIX — Four female inmates were hospitalized Sunday morning after showing “seizure-like” symptoms at a prison in Goodyear, authorities said.
At 8:22 a.m., paramedics took four women from Perryville Prison to the hospital for medical evaluation, the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry said.
Initial information suggests the seizures were a result of illegal drug use, authorities said.
The four women have since been cleared from the hospital and have returned to the prison near Citrus and McDowell roads.
Additional inmates at the prison were evaluated and drug tested, authorities said. One more woman at the prison tested positive for the undisclosed substance and was treated accordingly.
The San Carlos Unit will remain under an “operational curtailment” until the investigation is complete, authorities said.
The prison has seen drug-soaked paper being trafficked inside from the mail and from visitors, the Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry said.
As a result, the prison is working on prevention strategies, including the digitization of inmate mail.

Would it be so awful if they just let them croak?
Let's see if you feel the same way if you or someone you love ends up in prison and not given all their meds.
I was in San Carlos and I know that inmates that have seizures are not given all their meds to control their seizures. They say it's drug related and it might be. They are suppose to be lower/lower (floor and bunk) but my friend was on the second floor. She was ready to have a seizure and the guards wouldn't go with her. I got up to help her and almost got in trouble. She went down when I got to her. I was told to get away from her. Her head was on my leg when she vomited. I told them I would get up when one of them sat with her to secure her head. Then it was ok for me to help her. She took 3 different meds for seizures but was only given one. Her heart stopped and she suffered a couple broken bones from the compressions. None of that should've happened if all her meds were given to her. And her blood work came back clean so there was no drugs involved. No matter what's wrong with you, they say drink water. I had pneumonia and lost t0 lbs in 3 months because they refused to take me off grounds to the hospital. Other inmates were giving me their antibiotics and bringing me soup. Officer Harmon stopped me from working because my lips were turning purple from lack of oxygen. Guess what they told me. Drink water and go lay down. I thought I was going to die but thank God I got released in time. 50 lbs in 3 months, no meds, no inhaler or nebulizer. Just water. Smh.
