PHOENIX — An inmate died in a Buckeye prison on Saturday following an altercation with his cellmate.
The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry (ADCRR) said Joshua Walker, 41, died at Arizona State Prison Complex (ASPC)-Lewis, which is located off State Route 85, near Patterson Road.
According to ADCRR, Walker has been in custody since 2021 after he was sentenced out of Maricopa County for second-degree murder, misconduct involving weapons and a marijuana violation.
Walker’s death is being investigated as a homicide by ADCRR’s Office of the Inspector General and the medical examiner’s office.

Arizona's and America's prisons are societies of terror. Arizonans and Americans have been subjected to believe abuse and cruelty are justice. Worse, Americans have been trained by a ruthless capitalist system to value loss of life in terms of money.
