I-10 reopened after fatal crash near Queen Creek Road

Interstate 10 has been reopened near Queen Creek Road after a fatal rollover.

“We’re not clear what caused this vehicle to rollover, but we had several passengers ejected,” said Bart Graves with Arizona DPS. “They were all taken to a county hospital. One was pronounced dead on arrival.”

Traffic on Interstate 10 was routed to the exit ramp at Queen Creek Road and then back on to the freeway via the on-ramp.

Due to the I-10 closure, northbound State Route 347 was closed at Maricopa Road to alleviate backups. It was reopened when the I-10 reopened.

The number of fatalities was not disclosed, but DPS said “at least three” people were in the van when it rolled over.
