House fire in Surprise intentionally set by juvenile, police say

A juvenile in Surprise was arrested on Saturday night for allegedly setting their house on fire.

Officials with the Surprise Police and Fire-Medical responded to the fire near Cotton and Paradise lanes around 11 p.m.

Everyone was able to evacuate the home safely and no injuries were reported.

No other homes were affected by the flames, according to the Surprise Fire-Medical Department.

Very few details were provided about the juvenile due to the suspects age.

Officials say the suspect is being charged with arson and endangerment and said the fire was started on purpose.

The investigation remains ongoing.
