PHOENIX – Detectives opened a homicide investigation after a woman was found dead on a Phoenix sidewalk Wednesday morning, authorities said.
Officers responded to a call about an injured person in the area of Van Buren Street and Interstate 17 around 7:30 a.m., according to the Phoenix Police Department.
They found 43-year-old Brandy Thornton lying on the sidewalk with obvious signs of trauma. She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
No other details about the homicide investigation were made available.
