A hiker was hospitalized after being rescued from Piestewa Peak in Phoenix on Sunday morning.

PHOENIX — A hiker was hospitalized after being rescued from Piestewa Peak in Phoenix on Sunday morning.
According to the Phoenix Fire Department, rescue crews responded to a call at Piestewa Peak around 7:30 a.m. for reports of an overheated hiker.
Upon arrival, crews found a woman about a quarter of a mile up the trail. They used a big-wheel operation, a stretcher mounted on a single large all-terrain vehicle, to safely remove the woman from the trail.
She was taken to a hospital in stable condition.
All rescue crew members made it safely off the mountain.
No other details were made available.

Geeze with these people. It's March, not July!
Remove that 911 thing called a phone on the mountain, and maybe people think twice like they use to. What a waste of resources. Never going to happen, but there was once a time, when these events were not daily!! Hum..less people and the fact more attention was required when there was no easy lifeline around.
