Heat brings busy days for at least one Valley company

PHOENIX — One Valley company isn’t slowing down in the high heat.

AAA Arizona drivers have been helping out stranded drivers since the daytime high first broke 110 degrees.

Spokeswoman Michelle Donati said that between Monday and Tuesday, AAA Arizona took over 1,100 tow calls. Many calls were for batteries that needed replacing or flat tires with no spares.

The excessive-heat warning is in effect until Sunday night.

Donati said when temperatures go above 110 degrees, cars have a harder time keeping up. Therefore, maintenance is essential.

“Make sure your tank is at least half-full at all times,” she said. “You also always want to carry enough water in your car.”

Donati also recommended checking cars’ fluid level too, since those can evaporate in very high heat.
