A suspect who has been on the run for months after a fatal shooting was arrested in Glendale Monday, authorities said.

David Filimon Zamora Flores, 27, was back taken into custody on one count of second-degree murder and one count of aggravated assault, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

The shooting took place Jan. 2 near 19th Avenue and Bell Road, leaving 25-year-old Manuel Fonseca dead, police said.

He was armed with a handgun when he was arrested, according to court documents.

He allegedly fled the hospital after the fatal January shooting incident and had been avoiding custody for four months.

His two brothers were arrested days after the shooting: Daniel Zamora, 20, was charged with murder and aggravated assault, while Ricky, 29, was arrested for hindering prosecution, police said.

Court documents say there was “undocumented history” between David and the victim’s family.
